Willamette Raspberry
Rubus idaeus var. strigosus 'Willamette'
Willamette Raspberry was once the most popular raspberry in America and is still the most widely planted raspberry in the world. This heirloom variety was developed in the early 1940s in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. It remains a favorite for home gardeners and commercial growers because of its rich sweet tart raspberry flavor. The flavor of Willamette is so good, that processors will pay up to double the price per pound compared to other raspberry varieties!
