Trident Maple - ( Acer buergerianum

A tough, small-to-medium deciduous tree renowned for its glossy three-lobed leaves, exfoliating bark, and popularity in landscaping and container and bonsai. Grows in USDA Hardiness Zones Zones 5 through 9.
Reaches a mature height of 20 to 35 feet and width of 15 to 30 feet.
Moderate growth rate. Likes full sun to partial shade (best color and vigor in full sun).

Prefers acidic to neutral soils, though it can tolerate mildly alkaline conditions. Displays brilliant shades of yellow, orange, and bright dark red in late October and November.

A premier, beginner-friendly choice used in bonsai for over a thousand years.
Thickens its trunk and roots rapidly, handles heavy root/branch pruning with ease, and develops fine twig ramification and attractive flaking bark.
Used for informal upright, broom, forest, and root-over-stone styles

Excellent as a residential shade tree, patio specimen, street tree, or parkway planting due to its urban tolerance.
