‘Sweet Sunrise’ is a new June-bearing (short-day) cultivar from the U.S. Department of Agriculture–Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) breeding program in Corvallis, OR, released in cooperation with the Oregon Agricultural Experiment Station and the Washington State University Agricultural Research Center.

Sweet Sunrise is a high-yielding variety that ripens in June , producing large, firm, attractive fruit of excellent quality and flavor. The berries have intense deep red color internally and externally. Sweet Sunrise ripens a week earlier than most other commercially grown varieties and is well suited for the u-pick, farmstand and other fresh market growers and the backyard gardener. USDA Zones 6-8.
