Porcupine Grass (Miscanthus sinensis 'Strictus')
Porcupine Grass is a tall columnar ornamental grass that grows in clumps and can reach 5 to 8 feet in height and 3 foot in width with horizontal golden yellow bands. Blooms in mid to late summer with red bronze flowers. Great for narrow areas or in a planter. Grows in USDA zones 4-9. Similar in color to zebra grass, porcupine grass tends to stay vertical while zebra grass arches and flops.
May be trimmed to fit in a 24 or 36 inch shipping box in summer. Ships dormant pruned to 3-4 inch in winter.
