Munchkin Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia)
'Munchkin' is a compact, deciduous shrub reaching 3 to 4.5 feet in height and width, making it suitable for smaller landscapes and gardens. Thriving in USDA Zones 5 through 9, it prefers partial shade to full sun and well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soils. Developed by the U.S. National Arboretum.
6-12 inch plant in 5 1/2 inch deep Band Pot
This cultivar produces abundant white flower clusters in early to mid-summer, which gradually age to pink, and features dark green, deeply lobed foliage that turns mahogany-red in the fall. With moderate drought tolerance once established and low maintenance requirements, the Munchkin Oakleaf Hydrangea is ideal for foundation plantings, mass plantings, woodland gardens, and mixed borders.
