A deciduous shrub known for its showy, honey-scented white bottlebrush flowers in spring and spectacular multi-colored fall foliage in shades of red, orange, and yellow. This disease-resistant shrub typically grows to 3-6 feet tall and wide. It has blue-green summer foliage, and prefers moist, acidic, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. This slow-growing plant is deer-resistant, and a good choice for mixed shrub borders, hedges, or foundation plantings.

Mount Airy Fothergilla is a cultivar of fothergilla that is native to the Southeastern United States, specifically from a hybrid of two native species, Fothergilla major and Fothergilla gardenii.
