Moonglow Juniper (Juniperus scopulorum 'Moonglow') is a low-maintenance evergreen known for its glowing silver-blue foliage and dense, pyramidal habit. It is a great choice for privacy screening, windbreaks, or standalone vertical accents. Grows to 15 to 20 feet tall and 4-8 foot wide.
Grows in USDA Zones 3 through 7 (it can tolerate extreme cold down to -30°F). And, Zone 8 on the West Coast. Thrives in northern, mountain, and high-plains climates, handling harsh winters and snow with ease.
Requires full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily) to maintain its vibrant, signature silvery-blue color. Highly adaptable to all soil types, but must be planted in well-draining soil. It will not tolerate standing water or constantly soggy conditions. Highly drought-tolerant once established. Requires regular watering for the first two seasons, but later only needs supplemental water during extended droughts. Very low maintenance; naturally maintains its neat shape, though you can lightly shear it in late winter if a narrower profile is desired.
