Consort Black Currant (Ribes ussuriense) is a very productive European black currant that was bred in Canada and selected for it's immunity to White Pine Blister Rust. Makes a beautiful hedge. White bell shaped fragrant flowers, followed by delicious glossy black berries.  Leaves turn a bright red and yellow in the fall.  Fruits in sun or shade and is self fertile.  Great for fresh eating, pies, wine, juice and preserves.  High in vitamin C.  Grows USDA zones 4 - 8.

Currants and Gooseberries can be an alternate host to white pine blister rust.  So it may be illegal to ship to parts of DE, MA, MI, MT, NH, NJ, OH, RI, VA and all of NC, SC, WV, and ME. If you live in these states check with your local/state agriculture department to see if they are legal to plant in your Zip Code and if you need a permit before you purchase.
