Plant this beautiful evergreen in Filtered Sun, Partial Sun, Full Sun and Partial Shade in USDA Zones 7 -10. Afternoon shade is beneficial if planted in Zone 9-10. Hardy to about 0 F.
Likes well-draining soil. Benefits from frequent water to establish during the first season, then water in summer and protect from hot afternoon sun in Zone 9-10. Grow as a hedgerow, for edging, rock gardens and mass plantings. Plant 3 feet apart for a dense ground cover.
Point Reyes covers the ground densely, branches root easily and is a great shrub for erosion control, especially on steep slopes. In Spring the plant is covered in light purple blue flowers.
Deer-resistant, drought-tolerant, nitrogen fixing, pollinator friendly , excellent choice for hot dry situations.
