Boysenberry Blackberry
We offer both thorned and thornless varieties of Boysenberry.
The original Boysenberry variety that made Knott's Berry Farm famous. Has small thorns and a slightly richer flavor. Available as 1 year potted plants.
The new thornless Boysenberry...Totally thornless. Available as 1 year potted plants.
Both have huge, juicy, deep purple black berries that have outstanding flavor in mid - late summer. Both are crosses between blackberry, raspberry, loganberry, and dewberry. Eat fresh or make jam, jellies, pies, wine or sauces. Has a short shelf life after picked, so you will not see these delectable beauties in stores.
Plant in full sun to 1/2 day sun in fertile, loamy, well drained soil in USDA Zones 6-9. Canes will sprawl on the ground the first year and then should be tied to a fence, or trellis in the Spring of the second year when they will bear fruit.
Shipped with leaves in Spring and Summer, and without leaves in Fall and Winter.
