Millennium Asparagus is a non GMO hybrid Male, produced from 1st Generation seed produced in screened fields to avoid contamination from pollen from adjoining asparagus fields. Produces a true near all male stand of plants. Not all varieties that claim to be male can say this...resulting in a high % of female plants in other varieties.
Millennium is known for its high quality spear that remain tight at a greater spear height, even in hotter harvest seasons. Spears are tender, have outstanding flavor and excellent freezing quality. Performs well in a variety of soil conditions including heavier soils. Developed in Canada, Millennium has excellent cold hardiness and a very long longevity. Disease resistance, including rust resistance is excellent. A culinary favorite!

If properly maintained, this perennial will last for many years. Plant once and enjoy for 15-25 years. Asparagus should be planted in an area where it can be left undisturbed for years. This could be a large field, a north edge of a garden, or part of an edible landscape. It is a beautiful plant with a soft texture, so it can be planted with other ornamental plants.
