Blue Star Juniper (Juniperus squamata 'Blue Star')
Blue Star Juniper is a slow growing dwarf needled evergreen shrub with unique bluish tinged star foliage. It's dense, spreading branches forms a compact mound that grows as high as 1 to 3 feet tall, growing sideways more then up.
Blue Star junipers make an excellent bonsai starter plant. It cascades with a natural downward growth habit. Great for narrow patio areas, in rock gardens, and as edging or ground covers for larger areas. Also make great container plants. Use on any minimal care landscape.
Grows in various types of soil, from slightly acid to alkaline (pH 5.0 to 8.0). Soil must be well drained. Does not tolerate wet soils. Deer Resistant. Likes full sun in USDA zones 4-8.
