Weeping Willow (*Salix babylonica*)

A fast-growing deciduous tree native to China, thriving in USDA Zones 6 through 8. Preferring full sun to partial shade, it flourishes in moist to wet soils with a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Within five years, it can reach 20 to 30 feet in height, maturing to 30 to 50 feet tall with an equal spread, and potentially up to 60 feet under optimal conditions.

Renowned for its graceful, pendulous branches and light green foliage that turns golden yellow in the fall, the Weeping Willow produces yellowish-green flowers in early spring. While it offers effective erosion control due to its extensive root system and serves as a striking specimen near water features, it requires regular watering during establishment and periodic pruning to maintain health and shape.

The tree exhibits low drought and salt tolerance.
